My First Day in Hong Kong
I’m camping out with my good friend who lives with the view of Tai Tam Country Park. The air is fresh, the mountains are pointy, and it is cold here. The men in uniform are handsome, but impersonal.
I’ve been told that having a decent meal here costs just as much as a meal in Tokyo. Last night, my friend took me to a seafood restaurant called Sang Kee in Wan Chai. We had some live prawns, live fish, deep fried pork patties with chestnuts, among other things. Very delicious food!
Hong Kong is ultra-modern and its skyscrapers put New York City to shame. The hilly terrain makes for an uneven horizon, the buildings are close to each other in the city area and they look really skinny and tall from a distance.
Today I’ll be going on a Free n’ Easy chill day of nibbling on local eats and then to Causeway Bay for some window shopping. It is a nice day out and since I can’t wait I’m going to stop blogging now and start living.
Hong Kong I’m ready to get to know you.
