I’m Back in Asia for Good
Hello World! After a blog hiatus, that almost felt like the very first line of code I ever wrote.
First of all, I apologize for the extended silence as I have been uber busy. I finally left London and am back in the Asia Pacific region for good. As you know, moving from one continent to another (in this case back to an island), arrangements and social engagements can and did become especially hectic. Does leaving London mean I have given Europe up forever? Hardly. I just prefer to be based in Asia for the foreseeable future.
It is hot as an inferno in Malaysia and I feel like a lump of red coal begging to be splashed with glacier waters from the foothills of the Pyrenees. It would make things easier if I could say I was made of gelatin but my heat-nagging is inspired by an underlying drought that has struck Sabah. It has been boiling, roasting and steaming hot to the Nth degree! Take a look at how hot it actually is!
In view of it being unthinkably hot today, you can imagine how ironic it is when I found the following video. (I didn’t use this on my BJITW campaign). I thought I’d share it with you for comic effect!
If you just watched that, in the video I said I was regretful that I wasn’t in Malaysia when that happened, but words alone can’t express how I ache to be baptized by the frozen fluff seen on that video. Granted the snow was a freak phenomenon due to climate change, when I’m baking in the car at 105F temperatures and exposed to +10 UV rays, all I can think about is ice and avoiding sun radiation!
All things considered, I am very glad to be back in Sabah. It’s nice to be able to see my grandma smile and share pamper sessions at the spa with my girl friends. Food is cheap, most people are genuine and that makes Sabah a very special place to return to. I have a lot of backlogged footage to share from my travels so stay tuned for some wicked fun.
