Photo Diary: Adventures from the Past
I was rummaging through some of my old negatives when I was back in Sabah a few weeks ago and got some shots from my past adventures reprinted for my collection. Unfortunately most of the pictures are now showing signs of age. From what was saved, here are some pictures from past adventures with Coral Island Cruises.

1991 - On a longboat going toward Sipadan Island
I have sweet memories of Sipadan back in the early 90s. I remember how clear the waters are (although this photo has aged), and how amazing it was to splish-splash without a care in the world. Good times!

Hello from the middle of nowhere from Layang-Layang Atoll!
In 1990 we sailed from Kota Kinabalu to the oceanic island of Layang-Layang on the M.V. Coral Topaz. After something like 15 hours of a grueling journey complete with nauseous tourists puking from the rocking of the rough seas (me included), we finally arrived at Layang-Layang(Spratly Islands) in the morning! Here is the picture that was published in several international magazines, including Japanese and Chinese diving magazines.

M.V. Coral Topaz at Layang-Layang
Our 150-footer ship M.V. Coral Topaz anchored at Layang-layang. Divers on the longboat are getting ready to go off on their daily dives. My dad sailed the ship on most voyages to Layang-Layang and Sipadan Islands, which are oceanic islands (sounds scary doesn’t it?). Those longboats were tied and tugged all the way from Kota Kinabalu to Layang-Layang and back!

Rotary outdoor leadership training
This was an outing arranged by the Rotary Club. Check out my t-shirt! I’m representin’ and totally wearing it proud!

Island Hopping around Tunku Abdul Rahman Parks
I often tagged along to help out with the tours and to be a good host to tourists who were visiting Sabah. If I remember correctly this boat was called Coral Jade. Notice the Sabah flag on the pole! I’ll add more photos in the coming days. Right now I have to get ready for another interview with the BBC. Don’t forget to vote for me today!
P/S: Thanks for all the emails guys! It’s really encouraging. I’ll reply when I get a chance. Very busy weekend!
